VIRSA

Stottler Henke developed and fielded a virtual assistant for space operations as part of the DARPA Hallmark program. VIRSA runs on the Hallmark cloud-based systems and leverages the available data streams and services to answer queries and requests typed by operators. VIRSA is initially focusing on two specific skills: Summary and Keyword search. A Summary search result is an at-a-glance summary of key details the operator would want to know about a given entity, event, or scenario. Keyword search extracts keywords from user input and then searches across services and data sources for instances of those keywords. These two initial skills fill known information needs and provide a solid foundation for VIRSA; the number and variety of skills exhibited by VIRSA will continue to grow as the Hallmark program progresses.
