Stottler Henke aids expansion of world’s largest copper mine with addition of new water supply and other supporting infrastructure
The Escondida Water Supply project (EWS) in Chile will provide water to support the expansion of mineral production at the world’s largest copper mine. Stottler Henke is assisting with the project management via its Aurora-CCPM software per the construction of the marine works, the desalination plant and the water conveyance & storage system with associated high-voltage infrastructure of the $3.43 billion project. Aurora-CCPM integrates with the current Primavera P6 software so project model information can be exchange so that Aurora-CCPM’s enterprise-level critical chain project management solution can provide forward-looking guidance regarding project outlook and activity priorities as well as many other benefits.
When completed, EWS will deliver 2,500 litres of water per second (57 million gallons of water per day) to Escondida, which is majority-owned and operated by BHP Billiton.
