Korea Aerospace Industries Ltd., commonly referred to as KAI, manufactures a wide range of commercial and military aircraft, rotorcraft, satellites and components. KAI is a valued partner to Boeing, and was honored as Supplier of the Year in 2010 and 2012 for its myriad contributions to Boeing’s commercial and defense enterprises, including manufacturing critical components for Boeing’s fleet of commercial aircraft (including for the 747-8, 767, 777, and 787) as well as for for Boeing’s defense rotorcraft and aerospace applications (for example, KAI manufactures fuselages for the AH-64 Apache helicopter and the wings and fuselage for the F-15 as well as supplying components for the P-8, and is playing a central role in the A-10 Wing Replacement Program). KAI utilizes Stottler Henke’s Aurora as apropos for its Boeing 787 Dreamliner production scheduling; KAI composite parts include the front and rear spar and spanwise beam for the 787 center wing box, the 787 wing fixed trailing edge, and pivot bulkhead.
